Cryptocurrencies and Stocks Rise

Monday, stocks closed little changed in Asia, ended unchanged in Europe, and fell slightly in the U.S. on 13B shares traded. Precious metals dropped 3% and their miners lost 2%.

Tuesday, stocks gained 0.3% in Europe but lost 2% in Asia and the U.S. on 12B shares traded. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell 3% to end at 4.17. Precious metals fell 1% and their miners lost twice that amount. Apple closed above its 190 benchmark.

Wednesday, stocks rose 1.1% in Asia, 0.5% in Europe, and in the U.S. on 12B shares traded.

Thursday, stocks fell 0.3% in Asia and Europe but rose 0.3% in the U.S. on 11B shares traded.

Friday, stocks in Asia, in Europe, and in the U.S. on 11B shares traded. The VIX ended the day down 5% at 12.35. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 3% to end at 4.24.  The S&P 500 average closed above its 4,600 benchmark. Cryptocurrencies gained about 10% for the week. Finally, the Federal Reserve balance sheet declined 59B to 7.74T.
