Slow Week

Stocks in Asia jumped 1.6% but in Europe rose only slightly. In the U.S., stocks gained 0.3% on light volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond rate rose 3% to close at 2.18. Precious metals and their miners lost 2%.The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above it’s 26,000 benchmark.

Tuesday, stocks in Asia rose 1% and in Europe rose 0.7%. In the U.S., stocks closed little changed on moderate volume. Wednesday, stocks fell in Asia 0.8% and in Europe 0.3%. In the U.S., they fell slightly on extra high volume. Precious metals rose 2%.

Thursday, stocks in Asia fell 0.6%, in Europe closed little changed, and in the U.S. gained 0.3% on light volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond rate fell 2% to close at 2.09. Precious metals gained 1%. Friday, stocks fell 0.2% in Asia, 0.4% in Europe, and 0.3% in the U.S. on low volume.
