Monday, stocks fell 0.9% in Asia but rose 0.4% in Europe and 0.6% in the U.S. on 20B shares traded. Precious metals miners gained 3%. The Dow and S&P 500 closed above their respective  53,000 and 7600 benchmarks. The Dow and NYSE each logged record closing highs.

Tuesday, stocks lost 0.5% in Asia but advanced 0.8% in Europe and 0.9% in the U.S. on 20B shares traded. Precious metals and their miners gained 2%. The Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 ended above their 54,000, 26,000, and 7700 benchmarks respectively. IBM closed above 230. The Dow, S&P 500, and NYSE each logged record closing highs.

Wednesday, stocks gained 2.1% in Asia, ended unchanged in Europe, and closed up slightly in the U.S. on 19B shares traded. Precious metals rose 4% and their miners shot up 7%. Apple ended above 310. The Dow and NYSE each logged record closing highs.

Thursday, stocks fell 1.8% in Asia but closed little changed in Europe and the U.S. on 18B shares traded. Precious metals ramped up another 3% and their miners popped up another 7%. The Dow closed below 54,000. The big news for the day involved SpaceX shares being unlocked. Much speculation surrounded a high-volume day for the stock, but the dive anticipated by many never happened.

Friday, stocks closed little changed in Asia but gained 0.3% in Europe and 0.5% in the U.S. on 18B shares traded. The Dow ended above 54,000. The S&P 500 and NYSE each logged record closing highs.
