S&P 500 Ends at Another All Time High

Monday, stocks fell 2.0% in Asia and 1.4% in Europe and the U.S. on 12B shares traded. The VIX climbed 7% to close at 23.10. Precious metals closed up about 1%. The Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 closed below their respective 35,000, 15,000, and 4600 benchmarks.

Tuesday, stocks rose 1.3% in Asia, 1.5% in Europe, and 1.8% in the U.S. on 10B shares traded. The VIX fell 8% to close at 21.01. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 5% to close at 1.49. The Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 closed above their respective 35,000, 15,000, and 4600 benchmarks.

Wednesday, stocks rose 0.3% in Asia, 0.9% in Europe, and 0.8% in the U.S. on 9B shares traded. The VIX fell 11% to close at 18.63 and move back into the greed region. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell 2% to close at 1.46. Precious metals and their miners gained about 1%.

Thursday, stocks gained 1.1% in Asia, 1.0% in Europe, and 0.5% in the U.S. on 8B shares traded. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 2% to close at 1.49. The S&P 500 index closed above its 4700 benchmark at another closing high.

Friday, markets moved little worldwide as they were closed in the U.S. for the Christmas holiday.
