After More Record Highs, Stocks Decline

Monday, stocks moved up 1.1% in Asia, 0.7% in Europe, and just slightly in the U.S. on 9B shares traded. Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 Index each logged another record high close.

Tuesday, stocks shot up 1.3% in Asia but were little changed in Europe and fell 0.6% in the U.S. on 10B shares traded. The VXO rose 8% to close at 15.10. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield gained 4% to close at 1.42. Apple registered another record high closing price.

Wednesday, stocks fell 0.3% in Asia, changed little in Europe, and in fell slightly the U.S. on 10B shares traded. The VXO fell 5% to close at 14.36. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell 4% to close at 1.36. Precious metals gained 1%. Apple registered another record high closing price.

Thursday, stocks gained 0.4% in Asia, fell 0.9% in Europe, and fell 0.3% in the U.S. on 10B shares traded. The VXO moved up 9% to close at 15.62. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell 4% to close at 1.30. IBM closed above its 140 benchmark.

Friday, stocks fell 0.4% in Europe and 0.8% in Asia and the U.S. on 10B shares traded. The VXO rose 9% to close at 16.97. Precious metals fell 2% and their miners fell 3%. IBM closed below its 140 benchmark.
