Markets Little Changed

Monday, stocks fell 0.4% in Asia, rose slightly in Europe and closed little changed in the U.S. on 11B shares traded. The VXO dropped 12% to close at 17.59. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield declined 3% to close at 1.68. IBM closed above the 130 benchmark and Apple ended above 120. 

Tuesday, stocks in Asia dropped 0.9%, in Europe declined slightly and in the U.S. lost 1.3% on 12B shares traded. The VXO moved up 10% to close at 19.30. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield lost 3% to close at 1.64. Precious metals dipped 1% and their miners declined about three times that amount. 

Wednesday, Asian stocks fell 2% while those in Europe closed unchanged. In the U.S., stocks fell 0.5% on 13B shares traded.

Thursday, stocks in Asia fell 0.6% but in Europe ended unchanged again. Stocks gained 0.9% in the U.S. on 13B shares traded.

Friday, stocks gained 1.2% in Asia, 0.9% in Europe, and 1.7% in the U.S. on 13B shares traded. The VXO fell 12% to close at 17.23. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 3% to close at 1.66. Precious metals miners gained 2% while crypto currencies lost about 10%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 indices each ended the week with record closing highs.
