Cryptocurrencies Flounder

Monday, stocks fell 0.3% in Asia and 0.7% in Europe but closed little changed in the U.S. on light volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond rate fell 3% to close at 1.71. Precious metals and their miners gained 2%.

Tuesday, stocks closed up slightly in Asia, were little changed in Europe, and fell 0.7% in the U.S. on moderate volume. That was enough to drag the NASDAQ to close below its 8000 benchmark. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield dropped 4% to close at 1.64. Cryptocurrencies fell about 15%.

Wednesday, stocks fell 0.5% in Asia and Europe, but rose 0.4% in the U.S. on light volume. The VXO dropped 10% to close at 16.42. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield shot up 6% to close at 1.73. The NASDAQ and NYSE indices each recaptured their benchmarks 8000 and 13,000 respectively. Apple also recaptured its 220 benchmark. Precious metals and their miners lost 3%.

Thursday, stocks rose 0.7% in Europe but closed unchanged in Asia and the U.S. on light volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell 3% to close at 1.68. Apple closed back below its 220 benchmark.

Friday, stocks fell 1% in Asia, rose 0.4% in Europe, and fell 0.4% in the U.S. on light volume. The VXO rose 6% to close at 18.18. Precious metals fell 1% and their miners lost twice that amount. For the week, cryptocurrencies slid about 25%
