Uncertain War Prompts Uncertain Markets

Monday, stocks rose 1.0% in Europe but fell 2.2% in Asia and declined slightly in the U.S. on 19B shares traded. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield advanced 2% to end at 4.34.
Tuesday, stocks lost 1.4% in Asia but gained 0.4% in Europe and in the U.S. on 23B shares traded. The VIX dropped 18% to end at 25.25. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield fell 2% to end at 4.09. The Dow, NASDAQ, and NYSE ended above their respective 46,000, 21,000, and 22,000 benchmarks.

Wednesday, stocks gained 5.1% in Asia, 2.5% in Europe, and 0.4% in the U.S. on 19B shares traded. Precious metals gained 1% and their miners advanced five times that amount.

Thursday, stocks fell 2.4% in Asia and slightly in Europe but ended little changed in the U.S. on 17B shares traded. Precious metals lost 3% and their miners lost 1%.

Friday, stocks fell 1.5% in Asia and slightly in Europe. In the U.S., no shares traded as the markets were closed for Good Friday.
