Tuesday, stocks closed little changed in Asia but fell 0.8% in Europe and 0.7% in the U.S. on 16B shares traded. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 4% to close at 2.84. Precious metals and their miners lost 2%. The Dow Jones Industrials closed below 33,000.
Wednesday, stocks ended off slightly in Asia, fell 1.0% in Europe, and lost 0.7% in the U.S. on 11B shares traded. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 3% to close at 2.93. Precious metals fell 1%. The NASDAQ closed below 12,000.
Thursday, stocks fell 0.9% in Asia and 0.4% in Europe but rose 1.6% in the U.S. on 11B shares traded. Precious metals gained 2% and their miners moved up twice that amount. Dow Jones Industrial average and the NASDAQ ended above their 33,000 and 12,000 benchmarks respectively. Apple and IBM closed above their respective 150 and 140 benchmarks.
Friday, stocks fell 0.6% in Asia, 0.7% in Europe, and 1.0% in the U.S. on 10B shares traded. The Dow Jones Industrials ended below 33,000. Precious metals ended down 1% and their miners finished down 2%.
