The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield plummeted 6% to close at 1.71. Precious metals gained 1% and their miners rose twice that amount. Apple closed below the 260 benchmark.

Surprisingly positive U.S. employment numbers and more hopeful talk about trade deals lifted U.S. stocks. The VXO fell 8% to close at 14.42. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond yield rose 3% to close at 1.84. The Dow managed to close above the 28,000 benchmark while Apple logged an all-time closing high above 270. Precious metals and their miners fell about 2%.
