Tuesday, stocks in Europe closed little changed. They fell in Asia 0.5% and in the U.S. 0.4% on moderate volume. The VXO moved up 9% to close at 17.15. The NASDAQ fell well below the 8000 benchmark and the NYSE closed below its 13,000 mark — both achieved a few days earlier.
Wednesday, stocks fell 0.3% in Asia, closed little changed in Europe, and ended down slightly in the U.S. on light volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond rate rose 3% to close at 2.05. Crypto currencies shot up 15% for the day before falling back after the stock-market close.
Thursday, stocks moved up 1.2% in Asia, closed unchanged in Europe, and gained 0.4% in the U.S. on light volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury bond rate fell 2% to close at 2.00. Crypto currencies retraced the gains from the previous session — falling 15%.
Friday, stocks closed little changed in Asia, gained 0.6% in Europe, and rose 0.7% in the U.S. on very high volume. The VXO fell 0.5% to close at 16.03. The NASDAQ again closed above the 8000 mark and the NYSE ended above 13,000.
