Monday, stocks in Asia gained 1.1%. In Europe and the U.S. the fell 0.3% on on high volume. Tuesday, stocks closed little changed in Asia, rose 1.1% in Europe, and gained 1% in the U.S. on high volume. Precious metals fell 1% and their miners lost twice that amount.
Wednesday, stocks in Asia shot up 2% in Europe gained 0.3%, and in the U.S. moved up 0.5% on high volume. Precious metals moved up another 1%. IBM closed above the 120 benchmark while cryptocurrencies fell 10%.
Thursday, stocks in Asia closed little changed while in Europe they rose 0.4% and in the U.S. they gained 0.5% on strong volume. Friday, stocks closed nearly unchanged in Asia and Europe but rose 0.4% in the U.S. on strong volume. For the week, cryptocurrencies lost 20%.
