Monday, stocks fell 0.8% in Asia, 0.6% in Europe, and 0.4% in the U.S. on moderate volume. The VXO closed well below the key level of 20 which divides fear from greed.
Tuesday, stocks rose in Asia 1.2%, in Europe 0.5%, and in the U.S. 0.6% on strong volume. The Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P each closed above their respective benchmarks at 24,000, 7000, and 2600.
Wednesday, stocks closed unchanged in Asia, gained 0.4% in Europe, and rose 0.3% in the U.S. on strong volume. Thursday, stocks in Asia and Europe closed unchanged but those in the U.S. gained 0.7% on strong volume. Friday, stocks gained 0.5% in Asia, 1.8% in Europe, and 1.3% in the U.S. on high volume
