Monday, stocks in Asia fell 1% as tariff tough talk with China intensified . In Europe and the U.S. stocks closed little changed on moderate volume. Precious metals miners lost 2%.
Tuesday, stocks in Asia closed up 0.4%, in Europe were up slightly, and in the U.S. they gained 0.5% on moderate volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury Bond yield rose 2% to end at 3.05. Wednesday, stocks gained 1.3% in Asia, 0.3% in Europe, but rose only slightly in the U.S. on moderate volume. The VXO fell 6% to close at 10.68 while precious metals miners gained 2%.
Thursday, stocks gained 0.5% in Asia, 0.7% in Europe, and 0.8% in the U.S. on light volume. The Dow Jones Industrial Average logged a record closing high. Friday, stocks gained in Asia 0.8% and in Europe 0.6% but closed little changed in the U.S. on massive volume but about normal for a quadruple witching day.
