Monday, stocks fell in Asia 0.7%, in Europe 0.5%, and in the U.S. 0.6% on strong volume. Tuesday, stocks rose 0.3% in Asia but 0.5% in Europe but closed nearly unchanged in the U.S. on moderate volume.
Wednesday, stocks in Asia rose slightly, in Europe gained 0.3% but in the U.S. fell 0.5% on strong volume. The VXO rose 5% to close at 11.93 while precious metals fell 1% and their miner lost 2%. The FOMC continued on their trajectory raising rates and commented that jobs and the economy are strong.
Thursday, stocks fell in Asia 0.6%, in Europe 0.4% but in the U.S. they closed little changed on moderate volume. The NASDAQ again closed above the 8000 benchmark. Friday, stocks closed nearly unchanged in Asia, fell 0.8% in Europe, and down slightly in the U.S. on strong volume.
