Monday, stocks fell slightly in Asia, 0.5% in Europe, and 0.6% in the U.S. on strong volume. This time, it was the NASDAQ’s turn to mark an all-time closing high. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury Bond yield fell 2% to close at 2.38.
Tuesday, stocks gained slightly in Asia, fell 0.5% in Europe, and closed little changed in the U.S. on high volume. The NASDAQ set another record close though with an incremental gain. Wednesday, stocks gained 0.6% in Asia, 0.3% in Europe, and 0.4% in the U.S. on high volume. The news of the day was the Donald Trump news conference where he set the record straight regarding fake news, unleashed his wrath on fake news networks and websites, and revealed the work he did to restructure his finances to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest. Again, the NASDAQ set a closing record gain.
Thursday, stocks gained 0.8% in Asia, fell 0.7% in Europe, and fell sightly in the U.S. on high volume. Friday, stocks fell slightly in Asia, rose 1% in Europe and moved up slightly in the U.S. on strong volume. Stocks in general closed little changed from the previous week.
