Monday, stocks rose 0.8% in Asia, 0.2% in Europe, and 0.3% in the U.S. on low moderate volume. The S&P 500 Index and Dow Jones Industrial AverageĀ logged another day of all-time high closings as the VXO plummeted another 9% to close at 13.25. For good measure, gold tumbled 1.6%, silver 2.3%, oil 3.3%, and precious metals miners 5%. It was another day of delusion winning over reality.
Tuesday, stocks fell 0.6% in Asia, but rose 0.6% in Europe, and rose 0.3% in the U.S. on low volume Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 Index logged new closing record highs again. Wednesday stocks moved little. Thursday markets were closed for Christmas. Friday, stocks in Asia rose slightly while those in the U.S. were nearly unchanged as the market closed early and logged extremely low volume. Markets in Europe were closed.
