Calm Week for Stocks

Monday, stocks closed nearly unchanged in Asia, fell 0.3% in Europe, and fell slightly in the U.S. on light volume. Tuesday, stocks fell 0.3% in Asia, rose 0.3% in Europe, and rose slightly in the U.S. on moderate volume. Wednesday, stocks closed little changed in Asia, gained 0.6% in Europe, and rose 0.3% in the U.S. on moderate volume. IBM reported their latest creative accounting fantasy after the bell.

Thursday, stocks in Asia and Europe closed down slightly. In the U.S., they fell 0.3% on moderate volume. The VXO moved up 7% to close at 11.36. Friday, stocks in Asia rose 0.8%, declined slightly in Europe, and closed little changed in the U.S. on moderate volume. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury Bond yield rose 2% to end the week at 2.89.
