Euphoria Returns

Monday, stocks in Asia shot up 1.4%, closed up slightly in Europe, and gained 0.4% in the U.S. on moderate volume. In a sure sign that euphoria has returned, the NASDAQ closed above 7600 for the first time.

Tuesday, stocks closed nearly unchanged in Asia, fell 0.3% in Europe, and closed little changed in the U.S. on moderate volume. The NASDAQ did close positive though to log another record close along with Apple. Record stock buybacks stoke stock prices.

Wednesday, stocks closed up 0.4% in Asia, closed little changed in Europe, and gained 0.9% in the U.S. on strong volume. The NASDAQ and Apple ended the day in positive territory and registered record closes. The Dow Jones Industrial Average blasted above the 25,000 level again. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury Bond yield rose 2% to end at 2.98. After the close, Twitter was added to the S&P 500 Index in the place of Monsanto.

Thursday, stocks gained 0.5% in Asia, fell slightly in Europe, and closed little changed in the U.S. on strong volume. Friday, stocks fell 1% in Asia, slightly in Europe, but gained 0.3% in the U.S. on moderate volume.
