Phantom Companies Surge

Monday, stocks closed little changed in Asia and Europe. In the U.S., stocks fell 0.4% on low volume. The VXO jumped up 16% to close at 8.72. Tuesday, stocks closed little changed in Asia, fell 0.3% in Europe, and rose slightly in the U.S. on moderate volume. The Dow Jones Industrial Average shot up on strong gains by Caterpillar and 3M. The VXO fell 9% to close at 7.97.

Wednesday, stocks in Asia closed down slightly while those in Europe and U.S. fell 0.6%, on strong volume. The VXO shot up 21% to close at 9.65. The 10-Year U.S. Treasury Bond yield rose 2%, to close at 2.44. The big news of the day a Washington Post story that the Clintons and the DNC were involved in collusion with Russia in an attempt to swing the presidential election.

Thursday, stocks fell slightly in Asia, rose 1.1% in Europe, and gained slightly in the U.S. on strong volume. Friday, stocks gained 0.6% in Asia, 0.5% in Europe, and rose slightly in the U.S. on strong volume. The VXO rose 11% to close at 8.29 as phantom stocks go crazy — just in time for Halloween.
